Pipelines are designed for a specific life span, which is more commonly known as their design life. Any changes of the specified parameters, both operational and external, will reduce asset`s life expectancy and shorten their remaining useful life. To ensure further operational safety Remaining Life Assessment (RLA) is to be carried out. This is especially crucial for unpiggable assets that are either aging, handling aggressive substances or are in geo-hazardous areas.
SOLUTION
EMPIT offers Remaining Life Assessment for buried pipelines from the ground’s surface. In such way, we help our clients to avoid any operational interruptions or line shutdowns that might be caused by the use of In-Line-Inspection (ILI) tools. Through the remote Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) inspection, all the necessary pipeline structural and integrity data is collected and used to calculate Remaining Useful Life. At the same time, an integrity overview is provided to point out any areas of concern that are to be further assessed to improve assets life expectancy.
